Greetings Sox Fans!

On May 11th, Polar Park came to life opening the gates to Fans to begin the 2021 season. Due to the pandemic social distancing guidelines, there were some hiccups with the seating of Fans. However, together we all worked through it enjoying the games, the food and drink, and of course the Majestic ballpark!

During the month of May, everything was a first. First pitch, first out, first stolen base, first home run, and who can forget the first Grand Slam by Kiki Hernandez on a rehab assignment. The grand slam ball was located by members of…

Welcome, WooSox Fans to Rollin’with Rick's blog.

This is a blog that I wrote after the 2019 season about Hitting Coach, Rich Gedman. Included in the original title: Geddy, One Heck of a Guy!

Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for reading.

With the season now over, everyone has a little time to catch their breath with a few days off.

The end of the season is somewhat bittersweet. We have more time for ourselves, but you miss the excitement of the games, the entertainment and of course the Fans.

Personally, I’m going to miss Rich Gedman, PawSox…

Greetings Fans!

Today, January 7th is National Bobblehead Day.

NATIONAL BOBBLEHEAD DAY

Each year on January 7th, National Bobblehead Day recognizes a day of celebration for all spring-connected head bobbing figurines.

For over 100 years, bobbleheads have been entertaining and fascinating fans and collectors. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, too. Bobbleheads commemorate iconic teams, movies, and cartoon characters. Individually, they represent some of our most exciting athletes or thrilling television and movie characters.

Early bobbleheads, known as bobbers or nodders, developed from Germany. They took root in the United States pop culture in the 1950s and 60s. Bobbleheads resurged…

With the World Series underway, it gives Sox Fans a chance to see Mookie in action with the Dodgers.

For throwback Thursday, this was the blog from September 10th, 2015:

Today is somewhat of a gloomy day. Not only is the weather gloomy but today we have to pack up the Governor’s Cup and transport it to Scranton. I will be leaving later tonight to make the sad trip. Indianapolis Indians beat the Scranton RailRiders in the first playoff game 7–3. But let's forget about that for now….

Every year after our bobblehead giveaway we make arrangements…

Greetings PawSox Fans!

We've all been there. We decide to go out and eat, then spend a lot of time deciding where to go. One of the things that Rhode Island is known for is the great restaurants, and that makes it more difficult to decide. You'll always hear, “I don't care where we go.” That's followed by, that's too far, the wait is too long, etc. Sometimes what follows is, “Let's just order pizza delivery.”

Like everyone on this planet, Rhode Islanders have our favorite places to eat, from fast food to high-end restaurants. When we travel to places…

Greetings PawSox Fans!

The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly created a truckload of Firsts during 2020! Its the first time I ever used the words, “Social Distancing.” First time I had to wear a mask for most of the day and night, and the first I was ever part of a Taxi Squad.

The best way to describe Taxi Squad: A taxi squad is an informal name for the group of substitute players who shuffle between the major league team and its AAA affiliate depending on short-term needs.

The next question is, “Why is it called a Taxi Squad?” A little…

The PawSox win Big & Stepping in the Ring

Greetings PawSox Fans!

I figured it may be a good idea to use a few of the unique blogs from years past.

This blog was from 2011 in Toledo!

Earlier this evening the PawSox busted out the hitting sticks scoring 9 runs in the top of the 9th. With each run more people headed for the exit. The PawSox win 12–2. Earlier in the day it was a bit overcast and the forecast called for a 70% chance of rain at the 6:30 game time. …

Inspirational Definition. Inspirational — To offer something valuable, uplifting which motivates others to bring out the best in themselves. To be inspirational is to lead by example and encourage others to feel there is something worthwhile to become and do.

The definition of Inspirational is a member of the PawSox Ushering Team! A few years ago a young man named Evan Huddon showed up at our Job Fair looking for a job. The Team knew Evan from being an avid sports fan, and he loved the PawSox and attended many games with his family. …

PawSox Fans Come in All Ages!

Greetings PawSox Fans!

As part of the PawSox “50 Acts of Kindness,” Yesterday Paws along with Staff paid a lunchtime visit to the East Providence Senior Center.

East Providence Mayor, Bob DaSilva requested a visit to the center to meet some of the best East Providence residents. PawSox Senior Director of Marketing and Merchandising Brooke Cooper. who is overseeing the “Kindness” program set the wheels in motion and everyone had a great time!

It’s an awesome Senior Center with a lot going on. Of course, everyone loved Paws. Long-time PawSox Season Ticket Holder, Jane heard Paws was coming and wanted to stop by.

Mike Lyons who handles the PawSox “In Debt to a Vet” in-game recognition enjoyed chatting with a World War II Vet who will be honored during a 2020 PawSox game.
