Greetings PawSox Fans!

With the season now over, everyone has a little time to catch their breath with a few days off.

The end of the season is somewhat bittersweet. We have more time for ourselves, but you miss the excitement of the games, the entertainment and of course the Fans.

Personally I’m going to miss Rich Gedman, PawSox Hitting Coach. Rich truly is “One Heck of a Guy!” He is one of the most humble, respected and humorous guys you can meet.

Gedman is the type of person you can't help but like, due to his down to earth demeanor.

Rich has 22 years in the Red Sox organization, 13 as a player and 9 as a coach. Lest we forget that Rich “Geddy” Gedman was catching the Roger Clemens 20 strikeout game in 1986, a record in Major League Baseball.

It's quite evident that Geddy and Clemens are still friends and were happy to come together the day of the Hall of Fame Induction…

The box score is pretty cool…

Tuesday, April 29, 1986 Attendance: 13,414 ‘ Venue: Fenway Park

Game Duration: 2:39

Night Game, on grass.

Seattle Mariners: LP Mike Moore (1–2)

Boston Red Sox: Roger Clemens (4–0) 20-K • LP: Mike Moore (1–2)

When Clemens was here on June 21st, 2019 to be inducted, he was very happy to meet with up with his batterymate…

Geddy had some great teammates, including Jim Rice and Dwight Evans

Geddy is also very popular on the road. Fans wait for Geddy to come out of the clubhouse to head to the hotel. He gets surrounded by Fans requesting an autograph. During our trip to Toledo, Ohio to play the MudHens this season, it was a late game, and Geddy was tied up with the coaching staff for quite a long time.

The ballpark was empty, the vast majority of staff had called it a night. The players were already back at the hotel, and two Fans stood alone waiting for Geddy to sign. Although Geddy never met the guys before, he was quick to apologize for taking so long to come out, that who Geddy is!

One of Geddy’s biggest Fan is from Norfolk, Virginia. Maddy and her dad attend the game when the PawSox are in town to play the Norfolk Tides. Maddy is a great young lady and avid sports Fan, Geddy looks forward to meeting with Maddy every year…

Maddy has her own Fan Base, the players' love this avid Fan!

Bryce Brentz enjoys seeing Maddy…

As does Cole Sturgeon…

Geddy has a brilliant baseball mind who truly has a passion for the game. As a player, he wanted to win and was quite intense…

He has established quite a Fan Base. If you google “Rich Gedman T-Shirts” some unknown person/company is selling some of the best Rich Gedman shirts! I encourage you to check it out.

The shirts are quite funny. The one pictured here reads, “When the Boogeyman goes to sleep, he checks the closet for Rich Gedman.” There’s even a Rich Gedman for President T-shirt!

To say that Rich Gedman Fan Base is Worldwide, would not be a stretch! Last week I received an email from a Fan in Poland! I have redacted his name, but this truly was sent via email:
