Inspirational!
Greetings PawSox Fans!
Inspirational Definition. Inspirational — To offer something valuable, uplifting which motivates others to bring out the best in themselves. To be inspirational is to lead by example and encourage others to feel there is something worthwhile to become and do.
The definition of Inspirational is a member of the PawSox Ushering Team! A few years ago a young man named Evan Huddon showed up at our Job Fair looking for a job. The Team knew Evan from being an avid sports fan, and he loved the PawSox and attended many games with his family. His mom Julie joined him for the interview.
Captains Linda and Christine are part of the hiring Team and we all chatted with Evan. Since we needed someone to work the Main Gate and Season Ticket Holders entrance, we focused on Evan filling that role. Evan was asked if he would be able to scan tickets. He grabbed a cell phone, we got him a ticket, and pretending the cellphone was a scanner, was able to do it with ease! You see, Evan is confined to a wheelchair, and has been since he was 2 years old. Prior to that, his parents would carry him around.
As I wrote “hired” on his application he “whispered” to his mom, “Mom, did you see what they wrote?” As they say, “The Rest is History!” Evan loves the Main Gate…
Evan is very active in so many ways. When the PawSox were doing all they could do to keep the PawSox in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, even signing an agreement to keep the PawSox in Pawtucket for 30 years, there were many senate hearings. Guess who was in the front?

As a younger fella, Evan would take part in the PawSox Challenger Clinic…
He enjoys rock climbing, and just hanging around…
Evan spearheads a Toy Drive for kids every year! Please mark the date on your calender to visit Evan, Santa and Mrs. Clause and drop something off for a kid. November 29th, 2019. Location: Meadowbrook Lanes, Warwick Ave, Warwick, Rhode Island. Time: 11:00am-4:00pm. If you're unable to make it on that date, stop by any bowling lane any time and drop off a new toy and get free bowling!
Speaking of bowling, Evan takes part every year in the Tomorrow Fund bowling fundraiser at East Providence Lanes! This year he teamed up with Red Sox/PawSox Pitcher, Trevor Kelley…
Evan has friends in High Places, like PawSox Team President, Dr. Charles Steinberg, shown here trying on the World Series rings…

However, no one is more important to Evan than his loving, caring and genuine Family!
Evan is indeed an inspiration! He has launched a new career in radio. He works for WQRI an online radio station on Mondays from 9:00–11:00 am. Give him a call and request a song!
