Greetings PawSox Fans!

With the World Series underway, it gives Sox Fans a chance to see Mookie in action with the Dodgers.

For throwback Thursday, this was the blog from September 10th, 2015:

Today is somewhat of a gloomy day. Not only is the weather gloomy but today we have to pack up the Governor’s Cup and transport it to Scranton. I will be leaving later tonight to make the sad trip. Indianapolis Indians beat the Scranton RailRiders in the first playoff game 7–3. But let's forget about that for now….

Every year after our bobblehead giveaway we make arrangements to go to Fenway Park to have the former PawSox player that was chosen as the bobblehead to autograph a couple of cases for the sponsors that bought the bobbleheads as well as some that are used for the PawSox Charities. There is always more ordered than needed for the Fan Giveaway to provide the sponsors with some.

This years Bobblehead was Mookie Betts…

Arrangements were made to meet Betts before Batting Practice to have him autograph them. I left about 12:30 and Bill Wanless the VP of Public Relations left a few minutes later with the Heavy Hitter and MVP Award to give to Jackie Bradley, Jr.

First I had to take them out of the boxes. It was the Red Sox Family Room so fortunately, they have some nice comfy sofas and pillows. Perfect to protect the bobbleheads

They look so comfortable in the air-conditioned room….

They all get lined up on the table awaiting Mookie…

Mookie shows up ahead of schedule and gets to it. We all know that Betts can play ball with a whole lot of talent but he’s also a terrific guy. Quiet and always professional. A real classy guy.

In no time he has them all signed…It was difficult to find a place to sign on the bobblehead, there really aren’t a lot of options. It was decided to use the cap visor and it looked great!

Thanks, Mookie for taking time to sign all of them…You had a great game last evening with the Power of the Bobbleheads behind you! Thanks again!

A short while later Jackie Bradley, Jr. arrived and was presented with the Rob Levine Heavy Hitter Award for leading the team in Home Runs…

But Wait! There’s More!………….Jackie also earned the MVP Award! Well deserved! If there was a Great Guy Award, Jackie would have earned the Hat Trick! Well done Jackie!

Thanks Jackie for your time. You are right where you belong…..Playing in the Major Leagues!

In just a little bit I will be making the trip to Scranton. However, I do feel The Cup will becoming back to McCoy soon. We are getting ready for the 2016 season. Soon our schedule will be released and tickets will go on sale. Give us a call any time we are here and we are………..”Here For You!”

Love hearing from you rickm@pawsox.com

Yours in Baseball,

Rick Medeiros
